East Hendred is a village and civil parish about 4 miles ( km) east of Wantage in the Vale of White Horse and a similar distance west of village is on East Hendred Brook, which flows from the Berkshire Downs to join the River Thames at Sutton Hendred was part of Berkshire until the boundary changes transferred it to ct: Vale of White Horse.

2 East Hendred Parish Plan Foreword The East Hendred Parish Plan is the first to be produced by the village itself. The previous plan, published almost forty years ago, was prepared by Berkshire County Council.
